Sit with Me

Let’s do something a little different.
Sit with me.
We’re being told what to do, where to think, what’s right and wrong, what to eat, what to wear, where we should live, and how we should act.
It’s maddening. The sounds, the waves of energy coming at us all the time.
I don’t know where you are or what you are experiencing. I don’t want to add to the deafening drone of voices telling you who you should be in this world.
I’m figuring that out for myself.
On the way to the coffee shop this morning, I thought about the verse in Philippians 2:
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
We have our own salvations to work through. This does not imply that we work out anyone else’s salvation. What I do believe it’s saying is that as I create the space for me to work out what following the spirit looks like, I can also make the space for someone else to do the same.
We can sit together, and we can listen.
Hopefully, you’ve clicked the video above.
Can you feel the waves on your feet?
Look at the shells.
Where did they come from?
Look at the reflections of the sky.
The faint glimmer of a horizon.
We don’t need to go anywhere or do anything. We can just be.
And God is here.
Stay here as long as you need to.
I have a towel for you when you’re ready to come out of the water.
And, a sandwich.
You must be starving.
Hope you like Rye bread.
