Good Morning Love
The First Post
Good morning.

This being my first post, I thought of creating something smart, funny, idiosyncratic, or weird. I don’t think either of us needs that. You don’t know me. I don’t know you. As I type, the sun is rising on another Saturday morning. It’s calm and kind. Not funny, harsh, or disruptive. It’s here. I think I want to introduce myself in the same way.
My name is Judy. As of this writing, I’m in my 40s, assessing the curve of the universe, marriage, family, and my childhood, cup of coffee in hand. I’m an introvert. Once a month, you might find me in some coffee shop, being quiet, crocheting, or hammering away at a keyboard. I like being a nobody. In the digital age of tell-all, I’m rarely comfortable with spilling my guts. At the same time, l want to share thoughts that are relevant and helpful. Straddling these two desires is where I struggle. We’ll see where everything lands.
What I believe: I believe there is a God. I follow Jesus but no longer ascribe to any particular faith organization. Everything else in that regard is pretty much in flux. Too many rules have been set up by mere mortals and the older I get, the less I want to follow someone else’s interpretation of faith, politics, or daily living. So, no, this blog won’t be about what I think you should believe. I’m guessing you’ve been beaten over the head too many times. I’d rather feed you some breakfast and ask if you need more sleep. Food and rest go a long way in sharing the gospel, in my opinion.
I don’t do labels. I’m not a Christian or an Exvangelical. I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I don’t call people Karen or Florida Guy. Our culture loves putting people in boxes, taping them shut, and shipping us off wherever they want. Attaching a label to someone cuts off curiosity about that person. If I label you, I stop wondering who you are and why you are making the decisions you do. You don’t deserve that. Neither do I. Again, God loved, and that’s what I work to do.
What in the world will these series of writings be about? I have no idea! But, Steven Pressfield said that if I wanted to write, then I’d better do it. He is one guy whose words I take seriously. He’s earned that right.
What now? No clue. But, I hope your day is lovely. I hope my words have been refreshing. I hope this post opens a door between you and me and maybe, something useful will happen.
Holy work happens when something is useful.
Like the sun.
We wake up. We can see. There is light.
Let there be light.
Let there be love.

Till next time…
